What is LAN? |
|
 |
- A Local Area Network (or LAN) is a collection of computers linked
together by an enclosed network.
- A local area network is a computer network limited to the
immediate area, usually the same building or floor of a building.
LANs are capable of transmitting data at very fast rates, much
faster than the data that is transmitted to you over the Internet;
there is no limit on the number of computers that can be attached to
a single LAN.
- LAN connection use
routers,
hubs and/or
switches to connect via
Cat5 cable
to different computers.
